Many people with tattoos, often make the defense that a tattoo makes them unique. Sadly, these people don’t seem to realize that they already were unique. There are so many reasons people get tattoos. But when it comes to dating and romance. How do tattoos and attraction work with one another?
Tattoos really become popular back in the 1960s. It was mostly out west and was bikers and hippies. By the 1990s, it was the suburban white females that were dawning tattoos more than others. There is a long history behind tattoos.
Tattoo artist are impressive. These guys are real artist and is understandably what makes tattoos appealing to so many. People get tattoos for attention, artistic freedom, self-expression, to identify with a group, sexual motivation and many more reasons. However, how do these tattoos affect attraction and romance? Not everyone has tattoos, and many hate them, so where does that leave people on the playing field?
Are Women More Attracted To Men With Tattoos?
Surveys show that about two thirds of women are more attracted to men with tattoos than without. The reasons are that both men and women, feel men look more masculine. Tattoos on men give a man the appearance of being more dominant and aggressive.
I have pointed it out many of times in my other post, but women love bad-boys. It isn’t always a bad-boy, but women are attracted to real men. A man with tattoos, gives him the bad-boy look. Now he may be a complete wuss, but he looks the part. If anything, it does show he can endure pain, since getting tattoos hurt. It can also show that a man has some artistic flair. So in this scenario, tattoos and attraction do mesh, but does it really?
The Not So Attractive Part
Even though a good number of women find men with tattoos attractive. Many also feel that men with tattoos present failings. From the same survey, it was found that women do not see men with tattoos being a good partner. They also do not see tattooed men as good fathers either.
So basically, tattooed men are great for hookups and short-lived flings. Men with tattoos just don’t portray an image of long-term.
Are Men Attracted To Women With Tattoos?
There is a large number of men that find tattoos on a woman attractive. However, that is only like around 45%. So, that is about half and half. Half the men say yes, half say no.
Some men think that women with tattoos are easier to get into bed. They feel they have a wild side. Men love that many women with tattoos, show a lot of skin, usually to show off the tattoo. Overall, many men feel tattooed women are hot.
Similar to women liking men for this same reason. Men find women with tattoos to appear to have a higher self-esteem. Tattooed women also tend to be less judgmental. Then of course, a tattooed girl just sticks out more. Again, you can see here that tattoos and attraction work for a good number of people.
The Not So Attractive Part
Very similar to the tattoos on men. Men find tattoos on women as more of a quick fling. However, they don’t view tattooed women making long-lasting partners or good mothers.
I essence, a woman with tattoos comes across the same as the men with tattoos. Both are view highly sexually active. So, a man with this impression about a woman, feeling she has had lots of sex. This is a turn off and men become skeptical if a tattooed woman will really commit.
Do Tattoos And Attraction Really Work?
Just from what I wrote above, shows that people with tattoos are not taken seriously. They are viewed as wild, dominating and both share the high sexual presence. Men think tattooed women are easy. Women think tattooed men are good in bed.
There is the real interest in art and there are some that are in it for sentimental reasons. Not everyone that gets a tattoo is doing for quick hookups or just to promote sex.
Even a crazier thing I studied. Men with tattoos, don’t want their women to have them. This also works the other direction as well. Sound like too much drama to me. But for those looking for a real, long-lasting relationships. It doesn’t sound like tattoos promote such a life.
So, overall, if you are looking for a hookup, quick sex, fun-time party-time. Tattooed people seem to be where it is at. However, if you are looking to be settled down with the house, dog and family. Those that are not tattooed might be your better solution.
I think like minded people can find attraction for one another. There are those that love the art of a tattoo. I know couples that are both tattooed from head to toe, and they have the house, dog and kids.
Think About Your Tattoo Meaning And Location
Too many people that think they want a tattoo, do it all wrong. Putting your current boyfriend or girlfriend’s name on your body is STUPID!!! It might be OK if you could erase it rather easy, but you can’t. My favorite tattoos are the ones that just promote trash.
So, a couple are making out, the foreplay is getting intense. The guy pulls of the girl’s pants and then her panties. He wants to perform the best oral sex she has ever had on her. Then BAM!!!! There it is, a tattoo right above or practically on her private. “Joe Was Here”!!!
And this works the exact same way for the girl. She wants to give her man the best “BJ” ever. She pulls it out and there inked all up the shaft, “LISA WAS HERE”!!!
Granted, these tattoos are more than likely not say someone was here, but it might as well have. What a turn off, a real mood killer. To be slapped in the face that someone else meant so much, they got their name on the private areas.
Not to mention, how trashy does this make the person to go let a stranger tattoo that. I mean a complete stranger had to handle the man’s penis to tattoo it. The same with the woman, she had to strip down and let a stranger mess around down there.
When Is It Enough?
It is one thing to get one or two tattoos that have a real deep meaning. Or even tattoos that just have a beautiful art look to them. But to have them practically shoved up your butt, why?
I have known women that can’t make their bills, they live less than paycheck to paycheck. However, their top priority is to go get a tattoo. This is idiotic and for me, is a major turnoff. But this is also a character flaw of someone that has no sense period.
As I said, I can understand getting a pretty tattoo. Maybe one to show you are in a group or one that represents something special. But what is the message, the meaning when a person’s body is so inked, there is no real skin showing? I just don’t see tattoos and attraction working when you can’t see real skin.
Sexy Skin – Highly Erogenous
When I make love to a woman, her skin is what heightens the attraction. When kissing her stomach, or running my tongue on down from her belly button to the fun zone. The color of her skin, the softness of her skin, even the taste is so exciting.
I personally would feel robbed from that experience if her stomach was all ink. That isn’t to say all men are going to feel that way. I am just saying that women have incredibly sexy skin naturally. If a man is a passionate lover, he wants that bare skin.
I think Jessica Alba is one of, if not the most beautiful women on the planet. But what I really get turned on about, is her skin. Those shoulders and arms are so sexy because of how sexy her skin is. Shiny, smooth skin is so inviting. Women feel the same about men as well. Skin is just a turn on and sexy. So, if it is covered by a road map or graffiti, you lose out.
Tattoos And Attraction
Attraction is going to mean something different for everyone. There are those that never plan to settle down and get married. They are looking for the next hookup or fling. Then there are those that are looking for the forever relationship. So, there is no right or wrong by having tattoos or not.
Just from my research. It sounds more like people with tattoos are going to be attracted to other tattooed people. I do see one pattern out of all of this. Other’s view of tattooed people doesn’t sound like a forever forecast. Tattooed people seem to be looked upon as temporary, not long-lasting. However, no one can or should judge others based on looks.
There is nothing wrong in keeping that smooth blank canvas skin. People like myself find that extremely sexy. So don’t feel you have to get one to keep up with the Joneses. Just be happy with who you are, and do what feels right for you.
